Domestication

"Domestication" is my new piece I created especially for the exhibition "Quite an ordinary village", in which I look at the rural past, but also my own experience - refering to childhood memories. It is slightly nostalgic and I created the image that evokes the memories of many of us. The beads, whose compositional form evokes associations with beads hung on the threshold of a country kitchen, are made of epoxy resin imitating amber; in this way I also wishes to reflect my experiences from cleft habitus, linked to my working class-peasant background and personal advancement - symbolic capital acquired through education and artistic practice.
